Capstone Project
Understanding Emotional and Persuasive Design for Digital Products In Entrepreneurship: An Integrative Case Study
In my project, I argue that both emotional and persuasive design principles in the UX design process benefit both users and business stakeholders in the creation of my mobile application, Sproutful.

- Getting Ready
The process of beginning my capstone project began in the summer with a required reading course, INDS399. Then the year was broken into two sections: INDS 480 (fall 2020) where we conducted the bulk of our research and then INDS490 (spring 2021) presented our findings in research methods or applications. Finally, our project was concluded with a final presentation and feedback from our mentors and department staff.
Alongside my academic mentors and staff, this course prepared me to write my proposal for the final capstone project. We discussed strategies for conducting interdisciplinary research, specifically through a literature matrix/review, scholarship reflection of our sources, and multiple triangle meetings.

Capstone Project Detailed Plan
This outlines a structure for the required portfolio components and deliverables to be completed by May 2021.

Timeline
2. Putting It All Together

Application
This discusses how the insights from my literature review applies to developing Sproutful.
Scholarship of Interdisciplinary
The Individualized Study program emphasizes something called the Scholarship of Interdisciplinarity - the way multiple disciplines can be synthesized together to contribute solutions to complex problems. Essentially, what are the core perspectives to be integrated and what model is being used for my integration?
In my case, I integrated my academic disciplines of Psychology, Human-Centered Computing, and Information Systems.

3. Present!
My final presentation was held on May 7th. I was proudly awarded the Outstanding Capstone Presentation Award.
I also had the opportunity to present my project at URCAD, UMBC's annual research symposium. Watch it here: URCAD Presentation.
